What to Expect
You don’t have to be an art-buff to enjoy our Borghese Gallery private tour, but you may end up becoming one after visiting some of the finest works of Renaissance and Baroque art in the world with one of our art historians. In the company of a passionate art historian or professional family-friendly guide (for those traveling with kids), this Borghese Gallery private tour explores one of the world's greatest private collections of sculptures and paintings. Cardinal Scipione Borghese is the great collector and patron of the arts who assembled this superb collection in the 17th century. His passion and instinct for art led him to amass a unique collection known as the Queen of all Private Art Collections.
Uncover the former Cardinal’s luxurious living spaces while you stand in awe before the landmark masterpieces in their original settings – as the artists and artisans intended. The Borghese Gallery is spread across two floors and twenty rooms. Over the course of the visit, you will contemplate both the sculptures and Roman floor mosaics and frescoes on the ground floor and the paintings of the upper floor with your guide revealing the secret stories and techniques behind the artworks.
