The best time to visit Florence and Tuscany is indisputably mid-to-late spring (April-May and September). This is widely considered the ideal time to visit, with comfortable temperatures, fewer crowds than the peak summer months, and great seasonal food such as porcini mushrooms, truffles, and newly harvested olive oil on restaurant menus. These are the periods when traveling in Italy is most enjoyable, and Tuscany is no exception.

The Tuscan coast is stunning and there are quite many great places with beaches and beautiful cities nearby that can be great to stay with kids. Think of the beautiful Forte dei Marmi on the northern coast of Tuscany. This classic seaside town has wonderful family-friendly hotels and full-service beach clubs and its just 90-minute drive from Florence. But also, the suggestive Porto Ercole approx. 150-minute drive to Rome is one of the most favorite seaside retreats for families. To offer the most fulfilling trip possible, during the process we’ll make sure you’re aware of special places you may not have considered.

While not the largest region in Italy, Tuscany offers a diverse landscape, encompassing rolling hills, the Apennine Mountains, and the Tyrrhenian Sea coastline. For a decent introduction you need at least 5 days. While with 10 days, you can thoroughly discover this region which is roughly the size of the US state of New Jersey. Once we know a bit about you, we can give you advice and tips as to what will suit you best and start putting together a plan for your trip.
