Day 1
Welcome to Florence!
Upon arrival in Florence, you’ll be privately transferred to your centrally located hotel where you will be staying for 3 nights. The balance of the day is free to settle into your hotel located right in the heart of the city and just steps from the major landmarks.
Day 2
Renaissance Florence In Depth
Stroll through the city Renaissance past with this guided walking tour of Florence's historic center admiring its piazzas and palaces. Visit the Accademia to see and learn about the Statue of David of Michelangelo. You'll also visit the impressive Medici’s collections at the Uffizi Gallery which includes the artworks of Leonardo and Botticelli. The balance of the day is at your leisure.
Day 3
Cooking Class & Market Shopping in Florence
Discover some of the culinary tricks behind Florence's delicious cuisine on this private tour. Stroll through a local food market alongside your local chef, who then welcomes you into his home in the center of Florence. After discovering firsthand how to prepare time-honored Tuscan dishes — including antipasti, homemade pasta from scratch, a main course and dessert. You will later enjoy eating what you prepared during your hands-on cooking class. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 4
From Florence to the Chianti Hills
Chianti is the heart of Tuscany’s wine industry and one of the country’s most picturesque regions. After breakfast, our expert local driver-guide will pick you up and accompany you to your accommodation in the Chianti countryside stopping along the way at two boutique wineries for visiting their cellars and sampling their excellent foods and home-grown wines. Afterwards your driver-guide will leave you at your countryside hotel where you will be staying for 4 nights. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 5
Truffle Hunting
Enjoy a full day in the heart of the Tuscan countryside hunting for truffles and enjoying typical, local delicacies. You’ll head into the woods alongside the truffle hunter and his trusted dog. After a successful hunt, you’ll enjoy a well-deserved truffle tasting and light lunch. Continue on to the little hill town of San Gimignano, famous for its medieval skyscrapers, before your private driver-guide will transfer you back to your countryside hotel.
Day 6
Tuscany's Val d'Orcia
After breakfast, our expert local driver-guide will collect you from your hotel and bring you for an enjoyable sample of the different wineries in the UNESCO-protected Val d’Orcia region. Think of rolling landscapes, picturesque hamlets, medieval castles and delicious Brunello and Montepulciano wines. You’ll visit two boutique wineries, sip their fine wine and have a traditional Tuscan lunch. You’ll also discover the neighboring hill town of Pienza home of Italy’s famous Pecorino cheese before returning to your countryside hotel.
Day 7
Tuscany Departure - Arriverderci!
Today it’s time to prepare to bid farewell to peaceful Tuscany as you transfer privately to return home. If you want to explore further, you have the option to extend your stay by adding another city to your itinerary – or booking a longer stay in the Tuscan Hills. The choice is yours and we would be happy to design your trip as you wish.
