  • This private tour is available on request from Tuesday to Sunday.
  • Borghese Gallery closing days: Mondays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
  • The time allotted for the Borghese Gallery is set at 1-hour intervals and has to be strictly observed. Clients are advised to come at the meeting point on time so as not to compromise the timed entrance.
  • For safety reasons, all visitors must pass through metal detectors and there is sometimes a line for this.

How far in advance should I book this tour?

A great thing about this boutique museum is that it has a timed reservation system that keeps the crowds to a minimum; however, it also means that tickets are limited and well advance booking is essential. Due to overwhelming interest and limited tickets availability it's best to book this Borghese Gallery private tour with a minimum of 60 days before your trip.

How much time do we spend in the Borghese Gallery?

Our Borghese Gallery private tour is 2.5 hours long in total. The first 30 minutes are outside the Villa Borghese (to check in) and then a 2-hour guided tour inside the art museum (as this is the amount of time allotted for all visitors). Before entering the museum, your guide will give you some background on the Borghese family, the Villa Borghese, the architecture of the building and the Galleria Borghese’s history as an art museum. Afterward your guide will accompany you right past the long waiting lines, to the priority entrance to explore the interior and the art collection.

Is photography permitted in the Borghese Gallery?

Photography without flash is generally allowed in the Borghese Gallery. Note that during temporary exhibitions, the security staff may limit or prohibit photography in the museum. Tripods, monopods, and self-sticks are prohibited in the gallery and must be stored or checked.
