With more time, you can explore beyond the main sights and take day trips to nearby towns like Ostia Antica or Tivoli. If you want to truly immerse yourself: 8+ days. With more than a week, you can explore further afield, take day trips to Naples or Pompeii, or even venture into the Amalfi Coast. Ultimately, the best way to decide how long to spend in Rome is to consider your own interests and travel style. Once we know what you’re looking for, we can tailor your itinerary accordingly.

Our absolute favorite area to stay in Rome is right in the heart of the historic center. It’s the best area to stay if you want to be close to all the major attractions, such as the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps. It’s also a great choice if you want to be in the heart of the action, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and bars to explore.
