Overview

Most visits to the city are motivated by a desire to see fine art, eat delicious food and admire celebrated gardens, and you can do all of that right here. Most of the 116 guest rooms conform to an essentially Empire-period style, and each has an expansive marble bathroom. The six suites on the first floor are possibly the most beautiful hotel accommodation we’ve ever seen.

Set in 11 acres of bosky gardens with fountains, follies, little classical temples, a large outdoor pool and a first-rate, headily scented spa, it is an extraordinary hotel and has the largest private gardens in the city. Not only outstandingly luxurious, but a sort of Florence in microcosm. Guests can indeed enjoy a treatment at the spa, take a dip in the pool, work out at the fitness center, and enjoy fine Italian cuisine at the on-site 1-Michelin starred restaurant.
