Day 1

Welcome to Naples, Italy

On arrival in Naples, you’ll be met and privately transferred to your centrally located hotel where you will be staying for 3 nights. Enjoy the remainder of the day and evening at your leisure.

Day 2

Highlights of Naples Walking Tour & Pizza Making Class

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your private guide for a walking tour of the city highlights and hidden gems. In the afternoon privately transfer to a traditional family home for a private cooking class. Learn the tricks to create a real Neapolitan pizza and yummy Nutella fried pizza. Cook your creations and eat the fruits of your labor at the end of the class before returning to your hotel. The rest of the day and evening is at your leisure.

Day 3

Amalfi Coast Day Trip

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your private driver and travel along the beautiful Amalfi Coast with its rugged sea cliffs and colorful villages. Stop off at picturesque coastal villages. A visit to a traditional dairy with a demonstration of mozzarella cheese making is also included before returning to your hotel. The evening is at your leisure.

Day 4

Transfer to Matera from Naples with Tour in Pompeii

After breakfast at your hotel, your private driver will pick you up and you will make your way toward Matera, a city on a rocky ledge in the region of Basilicata. En-route, you will have a treat in store with a private guided visit to the dramatic ruins of Pompeii, frozen in time when Mt Vesuvius erupted in 79AD. Then, it’s off to your centrally located hotel in Matera where you will be staying for 2 nights. Enjoy the remainder of the day and evening at your leisure.

Day 5

Explore the Cave World of Matera

The unique town of Matera is home to the rock-hewn cave dwellings known as Sassi. After breakfast at your hotel, you will explore the Sassi on a privately guided walking tour of the intricate labyrinth of alleys and stairways, of caves and small elegant buildings, arches, galleries, gardens and terraces that make up this remarkable city of stone. Enjoy the remainder of the day and evening at your leisure.

Day 6

Transfer to Alberobello from Matera & Golf Cart Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, your private driver will pick you up and you will make your way toward the fairy town of Alberobello in Puglia region, where you will be staying for 2 nights. After settling in at your hotel, you will have lots of fun exploring the “trulli" on a golf cart private tour of the town historical districts. With your guide on hand, admire these fairy-tale-like dwellings. Learn about their history and architecture visiting the interiors of an authentic “trullo” home. Enjoy the remainder of the day and evening at your leisure.

Day 7

Ostuni & Locorotondo Day Trip

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your private driver and travel into the Itria Valley, through charming countryside and to two of Puglia's most charming towns. Wander through the old alleys of Ostuni, the White City and visit a traditional olive oil mill tasting some of the region's finest varieties. Next, your driver will take you to an organic family-run farm for a burrata cheese tasting. Afterward your driver will accompany you back to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day and evening at your leisure.

Day 8

Transfer to Bari from Alberobello via Polignano a Mare

After breakfast at your hotel, your private driver will pick you up and you will make your way toward the Puglia capital, Bari. The ancient town has a compact and very interesting historic center with narrow, winding streets and a castle on one side. Along the coast in between you will stop in the beautiful seaside town of Polignano a Mare. Then, it’s off to your centrally located hotel in Bari where you will be staying for 2 nights. Enjoy the remainder of the day and evening at your leisure.

Day 9

Discover Bari Walking Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your private guide to discover and taste the beauties and flavors of this picturesque old town. During the walk, you will be delighted by the fragrant smell of the region delicacies that leads you towards an historic bakery. Here you will see how the typical focaccia of Bari is made. You'll also taste its fresh-baked goodness, followed by another specialty, onion calzone. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see some of the main landmarks including Piazza Ferrarese, Piazza Mercantile and St. Nicholas Basilica. The rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 10

Goodbye Italy & Fly Home

When it is time to bid goodbye to your Southern Italy family trip, we will arrange a private transfer to take you to Bari airport for your flight home. If you are not yet ready to go home, we can help adding extra nights in Puglia or even spending some dedicated art history time in Rome. The choice is yours and we would be happy to design your trip as you wish.
